The PBR Comes to Town

You may have heard of the Professional Bull Riders also known as the PBR. They have the professional circuit you may see on TV but they also have a touring circuit that is more of the up and comers, amuetur riders and such. Well, the circuit made a stop right here in Durango, Colorado for the first time ever.

Not only did the PBR come to town but so did the TV crews, the big stock contractors and even some professional photographers. I was so honored to get to shoot this awesome event. I got to watch some big names, friends and even meet some new amazing people.

There were 38 riders entered which made for an outstanding night of bull riding. Bulls came from as far as California and as local as Ignacio, Co! It was great to watch some local bulls buck off some of the top bull riders in the circuit and watch others make incredible rides on some outstanding stock.

Between the long round and short go there was a great band that played. People got to mingle, dance and enjoy a beautiful summer evening in such an amazing place. True Western Roundup put a lot of hard work into this event for months leading up and it did not disappoint.

I got to enjoy the VIP section with some of my best friends as I invited them all to join the fun with me. We celebrated a birthday, shared laughs and just had a great time. My sweet assistant reviewed photos with me and even fell asleep on the job but we made it through.

Braidy Randolph was crowned the 2023 True Western Roundup PBR Champion. He made two great rides on two phenomenal bulls securing the win this year. Second was taken by Trace Redd with two rides scoring an 82 in the long round and 88.5 in the short. Notable Dalton Sanchez a local cowboy from Ignacio made it to the short go getting bucked off at the six second mark but leaving his mark at his hometown PBR.
